Mr. Pearl, whose real name is Mark Erskine-Pullin, is a renowned corset maker in the fashion world. Mr. Peral gained fame for his exceptional craftsmanship and dedication to the art of corsetry.

Born in South Africa in 1962, Mr. Pearl grew up in a regular family. After his parents divorced, he went to live with his grandparents. He loved corsets from a young age, especially lacing up his grandma's corsets. This passion led him into the fashion world.

I got really interested in corsets because my grandmother used to wear them," he explained. "Hers were always this lovely salmon-pink color. She even allowed me to help lace her up. It took quite a while with all those eyelets and laces, but I loved every moment of it. It was like a special treat for me.)

Feeling a lot of pressure to be like everyone else, Mr. Pearl got married to a South African actress. But he decided to end the marriage before moving to London, where he felt more free.

During the day, he worked with clothes and costumes at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. At night, he liked going to nightclubs and performing as "Pearl," his other self.

Later on, Isabella Blow gave him the name "Mr. Pearl," and that's the name he's been known by ever since.

After working with the famous performance artist, fashion designer, and club promoter Leigh Bowery, Mr. Pearl went to Paris to focus on his career as a corset maker.

He met designer Thierry Mugler at the Love Ball in New York City, which led him to make Paris his home. In Paris, he exclusively creates custom corsets for private clients.

Even though corsets have a history of controversy and are sometimes seen as a symbol of female oppression, Mr. Pearl believes they represent sexuality, power, and the pursuit of pleasure.

What makes Mr. Pearl special is not just his skill but how dedicated he is to his work. He wears a corset all the time to show how much he loves his craft.

I don't make things to be trendy or fashionable. I don't pay attention to what's in style. I'm attracted to a concept, a way of expressing elegance that isn't influenced by the latest fashion trends
